Last weekend in November

Raked the yard the day after thanksgiving and put all the gardens to bed. Eleven bags (pickups' next thursday).

Montauk daisy needs more sun. The evergreen beside it failed, and was removed. This bed is all new daffodil bulbs and hosta, and the roses were cut way back.

First weekend in November.

Autumnal equinox

So... Dave brought whooping cough home from school. That's right-we spent the summer in 1925. Due to illness I was unable to garden this season. Here's what the house looks at summer's end; perennials saving any semblance of the day:
